I've never met a crab cake I didn't like, but here is a recipe for one that I absolutely love! I buy crab legs when they are on sale and put them in the freezer until I need them. I got for these for $10.99 a pound. They can be as much as $22.00 per pound...which would make making them in to a cake ridiculous. The sale price makes using Alaskan King Crab about the same amount of money as using lump crab...and it's incredible!
A pound and a half of the legs will give you about a pound of crab meat - just what the recipe calls for.
